BINI have another certified hit on their hands, as their latest single “Cherry On Top” makes an impressive debut within the Top 10 of Billboard Philippines‘ Top Philippine Songs chart (dated July 26, 2024).
Upon the track’s initial release, “Cherry On Top” broke several records for BINI and gained further exposure with the nationwide leg of their BINIverse concert series, which is set to continue on its North American run later this month. The buzz surrounding the hit song also made waves across social media, leading it to become the No. 1 trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) on its release day, while peaking at No. 2 as one of the trending topics on X’s global sphere. Beyond its remarkable success locally, the all-English track also made waves internationally — introducing several audiences to the P-pop genre alongside BINI’s expansive discography.
The P-pop hitmakers’ latest release enters the charts at a remarkable entry position of No. 5, sitting alongside their chart-topping hits like “Salamin, Salamin” and “Pantropiko,” which rank at No. 2 and No. 4 respectively. Standing at No. 6 is their beloved single from 2023, “Karera,” while “Lagi,” their sleeper hit from their Feel Good album, steps down a few positions to No. 8 in this week’s chart rankings.
Aside from BINI’s unstoppable reign on the Top 10 of the Top Philippine Songs chart, other notable entries on the chart include Maki’s “Dilaw,” which still holds the No.1 position for four weeks in a row, while Dionela and Jay R‘s chart-climbing hit “Sining” reaches a new peak position of No. 3 — marking quite the jump from its place at No. 8 on the charts last week. TJ Monterde’s “Palagi” is also still present at the No. 7 spot, demonstrating a consistent hold on both the Top 10 and the hearts of Filipino listeners all around the country with its steady, unshakeable position.
The rest of the Top Philippine Songs chart features longstanding entries from Hev Abi, gins&melodies, Young Blood Neet, Up Dharma Down, Cup of Joe, Janine Tenoso, Adie, Janine Berdin, Realest Cram, and Enzo MF, among others who all hold a consistent grasp within the Top 25 over the past few weeks. However, a very welcome yet equally notable debut within the Top 25 is Eliza Maturan‘s “Museo,” which debuts at No. 24 on the chart.
