“Paraluman” hitmaker Adie performed his latest track, “Closer You And I,” in this week’s edition of Billboard Philippines Soundwave. The episode, powered by Closeup, features a stripped down and acoustic version of the song.
The song is part of Closeup’s latest campaign. Last week, the brand premiered the official music video for the track featuring the love team Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano. The video was directed by celebrated director Antoinette Jadaone and tells the story of Pangilinan and Mariano slowly falling in love with each other as they ride the elevator together.
Last week, Awit Award winner Jarlo Bâse performed his viral track “Kalapati” (Pigeon) on the Soundwave stage. Check out the episode here.
Soundwave is the media platform’s show that showcases the trending songs in today’s music industry. The other flagship programs of Billboard Philippines’ media channels include Studios, which features reimagined versions of an artist’s biggest hits, and Volumes, a podcast that goes behind the music and highlights the stories of different Filipino artists.
“Soundwave puts the spotlight on carefully selected artists and songs chosen by the Billboard Philippines team. This platform serves as a prime stage for up-and-coming artists, potential chart-toppers, and new hits to be heard,” Associate Producer Matthew Ong explains. “Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of the brand’s cover, this platform offers artists a chance to be heard and seen under the global Billboard branding, providing them with a prominent showcase.”
Episodes of Soundwave go live on TikTok every Monday, while episodes of Volumes are uploaded every Wednesday. Episodes of Studios premiere every second and fourth Friday of the month.
