‘Tis the season for Spotify Wrapped.

The end of November marks more than just the beginning of the holidays. Since its official inception in 2016, Spotify’s annual Wrapped feature has become a end-of-year tradition for all music fans. Whether you’re dreading reliving your listening habits of the year or excited to brag about your superior music taste, Spotify Wrapped brings everyone together with a flurry of bright colored graphics and user data.

Beyond just revealing everyone’s individual music behavior, Wrapped also sees a recount of the most listened to songs, artists, and albums all across the world. In 2023, the most streamed song globally was Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” while in the Philippines’ specifically, Sunkissed Lola‘s “Pasilyo” reigns supreme.

This comes as the sixth year in a row that a Filipino song has topped the list of the most streamed songs in the Philippines. Since 2018, tracks from homegrown acts have Ben&Ben, IV Of Spades, December Avenue, and Moira Dela Torre have ruled over people’s hearts, beating out the likes of Ed Sheeran and The Chainsmokers who ruled previous years.

So, to celebrate another year of good Filipino music and another edition of Spotify Wrapped, Billboard Philippines is looking back at all the Filipino songs that have been crowned the most streamed song in the country through the years.


“Pasilyo” – Sunkissed Lola

“Pasilyo” has taken the Philippines by storm in 2023. Initially released late last year, the sweet love song is all about the joy and excitement of finding one. It comes as Sunkissed Lola’s most successful song to date, having been streamed over 160 million times as of publishing. As a follow up to the viral hit, the band released a prequel single titled “Dal’wang Patinig” all about the journey before finding that one person you want to spend a lifetime with.

“Ikaw Lang” – NOBITA

NOBITA’s “Ikaw Lang” topped streaming charts in 2022, despite being two years old at the time. The track gained new heights after going viral on TikTok, even becoming one of the longest charting song on Billboard‘s Philippine Songs chart, staying on for 63 weeks and peaking at No. 3

“Binibini” – Zack Tabudlo

In 2021, there was nowhere you could go without hearing “Binibini”. From TikTok to radio stations to your neighborhood retail stores, the Zack Tabudlo hit was everywhere. Romantic and sincere, the track become of the few local songs to break into Spotify’s Global Viral chart and also broke the record for the longest-running No. 1 song on the Philippines Top 50 Chart.

“Binibini” comes as part of Tabudlo’s 2021 album, Episode which he described as “14 stories of my life that made me the person I am today, dealing with heartbreak, anxiety, happiness, love and life”.

“Imahe” – Magnus Haven

When the pandemic raged on, Filipino music fans sought comfort in Magnu Haven’s heartfelt track “Imahe”.It became the most streamed song in the Philippines in 2020, beating the likes of Justin Bieber and Quavo’s “Intentions”, Ben&Ben’s “Make It With You”, Maximillian’s “Beautiful Scars”, and Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved”.

“Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw” – December Avenue and Moira Dela Torre

“Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw” broke hearts and topped charts in 2019. Despite being December Avenue and Moira Dela Torre’s first (and only, so far) project together, the collaboration worked like magic, resonating with millions across the country. To date, it’s still one of the two acts’ most memorable release, amassing close to 200 million streams as of publishing.

“Mundo” – IV Of Spades

The year was 2018, IV Of Spades were still making music and taking over music charts all across the country. The pop band, whose members have since gone their separate ways, were churning out hit after hit and even became the first Filipino act to top Spotify’s year-end most streamed song list with “Mundo”. The band beat the likes of Dua Lipa and Zedd, as well as local artists like Ben&Ben and Moira Dela Torre.
