Dilaw members Dilaw Obero and Vie dela Rosa sit down with Billboard Philippines‘ Editor-in-Chief Bret Jackson to open Season 2 of Billboard Philippines Volumes.

Season 2 centers around the theme of Behind The Music, where artists share the stories behind today’s biggest Filipino music hits. On the first episode, Obero and dela Rosa share that they actually wrote “Uhaw” during a drinking session, and that originally it wasn’t “part of the plan.” That is what inspired the creation of “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat),” which served as an “official launch” of the band.

As for “Janice,” dela Rosa and Obero opened up about how the song was actually about a mutual crush between the two, and was written for a local songwriting competition in Baguio. Although they didn’t win the grand prize, the song now has over 10 million streams on Spotify.

Season 1 of the podcast show revolved around life lessons, where artists like SB19, Zild, Ena Mori, Lourd de Veyra, National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, and more shared the lessons they learned about life and music over the course of their respective careers.

The other flagship programs of Billboard Philippines’ media channels include Studios, which features reimagined versions of an artist’s biggest hits, and Soundwave, the media platform’s show that showcases the trending songs in today’s music industry.

Last month, Dilaw made their Billboard Philippines debut on Studios, where they performed reimagined versions of “Uhaw,” “Janice,” and an unreleased song, “Walwal.”

Episodes of Soundwave are uploaded on TikTok every Monday. Episodes of Volumes are uploaded on Spotify every Wednesday, while episodes of Studios premiere on YouTube every second and last Friday of the month.
