Awit Award winner Jarlo Bâse has finally made his debut on Billboard Philippines Soundwave.
The singer-songwriter performed his hit, “Kalapati” (Pigeon), which has racked up over a million streams on Spotify since its release in 2022. The song, which tells a story of acceptance despite hardships, earned him the Awit Award for Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist.
Jarlo Bâse follows last week’s Soundwave artist, Clara Benin, who performed the hit “small town” from her stellar record, befriending my tears. The other featured artists on Billboard Philippines’ media channels include “SITWASYONSHIP” singer-songwriter Janine Berdin on the podcast show, Volumes, and a performance by the country’s biggest act Ben&Ben on Studios.
Soundwave is the media platform’s show that showcases the trending songs in today’s music industry. The other flagship programs of Billboard Philippines’ media channels include Studios, which features reimagined versions of an artist’s biggest hits, and Volumes, a podcast that goes behind the music and highlights the stories of different Filipino artists.
“Soundwave puts the spotlight on carefully selected artists and songs chosen by the Billboard Philippines team. This platform serves as a prime stage for up-and-coming artists, potential chart-toppers, and new hits to be heard,” Associate Producer Matthew Ong explains. “Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of the brand’s cover, this platform offers artists a chance to be heard and seen under the global Billboard branding, providing them with a prominent showcase.”
Episodes of Soundwave go live on TikTok every Monday, while episodes of Volumes are uploaded every Wednesday. Episodes of Studios premiere every second and fourth Friday of the month.
