Rosé has officially signed with THEBLACKLABEL.
In an announcement made today (June 18), it was confirmed that the BLACKPINK member has signed a management contract with THEBLACKLABEL, a subsidiary under the K-pop giant YG Entertainment. The label shared the news via an official statement, adding that Rosé is set to collaborate with a global record label for her music moving forward.
“Rosé is currently preparing to meet global fans with new music, and she plans to engage in music activities worldwide in collaboration with a global record label going forward,” the statement, as translated by Soompi, read. “Please look forward to the best synergy created from the meeting of Rosé, who boasts unique musical color, and THEBLACKLABEL, which pursues freedom in the artists’ activities.”
THEBLACKLABEL was founded in 2016 by producer Teddy Park and has since grown to house some of the biggest artists in Korean entertainment. Under the label, Rosé will join artists Taeyang of BIG BANG, Jeon Somi, and Zion. T, as well as actors Park Bogum and Lee Jong Won.
In December 2023, the members of BLACKPINK announced that they have parted ways with YG Entertainment for their solo projects but renewed their contracts with the company for all their group activities. The announcement followed their headlining performance at Coachella 2023 and their grand world tour, the latter of which being in support of their highly anticipated sophomore album, Born Pink.
Rosé comes as the last member of the group to confirm plans for her solo music following their departure from YG Entertainment. In 2023, Jennie announced her own company, ODD ATELIER or OA, which was described as “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.”
In April, Lisa announced that she formed her own management company, LLOUD, and signed with RCA Records for her solo music. Jisoo also set up her own entertainment company, Blissoo, in February, which aims to “create a community where everyone feels valued, inspired, and embraced, as we continue to grow together on a journey filled with joy and possibility.”
Rosé made her solo debut in 2021 with her single album, R which features the Billboard Global 200 chart-topper “On The Ground” and “Gone.” Listen to it below.
