SB19 musical director Pablo and his brother Josue have teamed up again for their latest track, “DETERMINADO” (Determined).
The track, which premiered yesterday (January 14) serves as Pablo’s first solo release since “La Luna” in 2022. Josue and Pablo have been long-time collaborators. In a press statement, Pablo talked about what it’s like working with his brother.
“We’re a team, we always work hand in hand, always learning from each other, and drawing inspiration back and forth. We grew up in the same environment so we just vibe and connect easily.”
SB19’s main rapper and vocalist continued, talking about how he wants to show a different side of himself through his solo project. “It’s a realization
when we find the courage to actually do what we want, and what kind of artist we aspire to be. We are confronting our fears and roadblocks, but still moving forward.”
“Our music is not just the output; it’s a collective of all the micro-things that happen behind the scenes and all throughout the process. We are more assertive now. Also, this song marks a departure from our previous releases; it’s a blend of hip-hop and rock genres.”
He also revealed that he is gearing up to release his debut solo album sometime this year. As of today, no further details have been released. Watch this space for more updates.
In other news, SB19 swept the 2024 edition of the Wish Music Awards. The group won three awards: Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year for “GENTO,” Wishclusive R&B Performance of the Year for “I WANT YOU”, and Wish Group of the Year. The members’ solo projects also received numerous awards, with FELIP (who performs as Ken under SB19) winning Wishclusive Hip-Hop Performance of the Year for “ROCKSTA” and Josh Cullen winning the Wishers’ Choice Award and Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
