SB19 member Josh Cullen has just been crowned as this year’s Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
“Guys, A’TIN, thank you so much! Of course, ttreasure ko ito habangbuhay (I will treasure this forever),” said Cullen, accepting the award.
The rapper also won Wishers’ Choice Award, where he said, “”I started my solo career last year lang, and it was really hard to juggle…I’ve been learning a lot, exploring a lot. It’s been a wild year, wild journey. A’TIN, my family, Ocho [the Bullet], lahat ng mga music artists na nandito, kayo ang rason kung ba’t ako nagpapatuloy (all the music artists here, you are the reason I keep going.”
He made his debut as a solo artist with the release of “WILD TONIGHT” in February of 2023. The Wish Bus performance of the song premiered on YouTube last year, in March.It has since garnered over 500,000 views, with the song having over 4 million streams on Spotify.
In an Instagram post uploaded in December of last year, Cullen seemed to tease a full-length release sometime in 2024, with his caption saying, “Honestly at loss for words. Didn’t expect to release 4 songs in less than a year. You all made this possible, thank you for being part of my 2023. And for 2024, a full…”
In December, Cullen released his second solo single, “GET RIGHT” in collaboration with producers No Rome and frequent collaborator Ocho The Bullet. The track’s music video premiered on the same day and features the singer going around Los Angeles.
