Felip has just released a cover of “Moving Closer”, which was originally written by Anthony Libre and performed by Never the Strangers. The cover comes as part of Warner Music Philippines‘ Classic Cover series, which sees the label’s roster of artists reimagine hits from the past.
Felip — who is also known as Ken of SB19 — follows labelmates Jason Dhakal, Arthur Miguel, and Jikamarie who covered songs from Sitti, Rico Blanco, and Kitchie Nadal respectively. The Classic Cover series comes in celebration of Warner Music Philippines’ 30th anniversary.
“Moving Closer” was originally released in 2012 as part of Never The Strangers’ self-titled album.
Felip started 2023 with the release of his solo debut EP, COMPLEX. It comes after the release of his debut single “Palayo” and its follow up “Bulan”. Throughout the year, the rapper has performed around the region including a solo concert in Singapore last September. He has also been touring around North America and Asia alongside the rest of SB19 as part of the P-pop group’s PAGTATAG! World Tour.
Warner Music Philippines initially kicked of their anniversary celebrations earlier this April with a concert featuring Dilaw, JRLDM, Felip, Lola Amour, Leanne & Naara, and Playertwo. The concert, titled We Play Here’, aimed to showcase and celebrate the newest generation of Filipino artists.
