Over the weekend, Billboard shared their year-end music charts, unveiling their top songs, albums, and artists of the year across the world. Landing atop the Philippine Songs chart is Dilaw‘s viral hit “Uhaw”, beating the likes of SZA‘s “Kill Bill” and “Snooze”, and Taylor Swift‘s “Anti-Hero” and “Cruel Summer”.
Joining the Baguio-based band are Sunkissed Lola‘s “Pasilyo” and Adie and Janine Berdin‘s “Mahika” ranking at No. 3 and No. 6 respectively. They come as the only Filipino acts to break into the chart’s Top 10 this year.
Rounding up the Top 10 are K-pop tracks “Cupid” by girl group Fifty Fifty and “Seven” by BTS‘ Jungkook featuring Latto, as well as The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Die For You”.
Dilaw’s “Uhaw” dropped in late 2022 and has become the band’s biggest hit yet. Most recently, the track earned Dilaw the coveted Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year awards at this year’s Awit Awards. While “Mahika” comes as the longest charting song in the history of the Philippine Songs chart, counting at 71 consecutive weeks and peaking at No. 1. “Pasilyo” has also peaked at No. 1 and has ranked on the chart for 23 consecutive weeks.
Beyond the Philippine Songs chart, Billboard also shared the year-end ranking of their famed Hot 100 which sees Morgan Wallen‘s “Last Night”, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers”, and SZA’s “Kill Bill” rounding up its Top 3. While their Billboard 200 Albums chart’s Top 3 comprises Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At Time, Taylor Swift’s Midnights, and SZA’s SOS.
