“Mahika” by Adie and Janine Berdin has become the longest-charting song in Billboard Philippines Songs history at 69 weeks.
Aside from extending its own record as the song with the most weeks in the chart’s history, “Mahika” broke its tie with Nobita’s sleeper hit “Ikaw Lang” at 68 weeks. “Mahika” peaked at number one for two weeks, while “Ikaw Lang” peaked at number three during its chart run. The next closest song to is American singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez’s “Until I Found You,” which charted for 58 weeks and peaked at number three.
“Mahika” has stayed on the charts since it was first released in May 2022. On October 19 of the same year, it topped Billboard Philippines Songs for two weeks. Today, it is currently on the number 20 spot on the Billboard Philippines Songs chart.
The song made history as the first duet to ever hit number one on the charts, with Berdin also becoming the first Filipina to ever achieve the feat.
More recently, Adie released the 2023 singles “Kursunada” and “G.K.Y.A.M.” Janine also released the 2023 singles “SITWASYONSHIP,” and “bagay nga tayo pero,” on top of the collaboration “habangbuhay/habang buhay” with Dom Guyot.
