This week, the latest hit single from Maki has officially entered Billboard Philippines‘ Top Philippine Songs chart.
On September 25, Billboard Philippines revealed its chart rankings for the week of September 28, 2024. On the Billboard Philippines Top Philippine Songs, “Namumula” — Maki’s latest single following the viral “Dilaw” — has debuted on the chart, attaining an initial ranking at No. 18. It joins the aforementioned “Dilaw” as well as the singer-songwriter’s breakout single “Saan?” on the chart this week, attaining rankings of No. 3 and No. 15, respectively.
“Namumula” — which references the internal conflict of whether or not to go after a special someone despite their so-called “red flags” – also ranks on Billboard Philippines‘ Hot 100, making a significant jump from No. 40 to No. 28 this week. The song is Maki’s follow-up to “Dilaw” – a track that made history by being the first one to achieve No. 1 on both Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100 and Top Philippine Songs as well as spending a total of four weeks at No. 1 on both charts.
Elsewhere on the Top Philippine Songs chart, Dionela and Jay R maintain their uncontested hold on the No. 1 spot with “sining” for the ninth week in a row, followed by TJ Monterde’s “Palagi” at No. 2.
Meanwhile, BINI’s “Salamin, Salamin” occupies the No. 4 spot, while their other hit tracks also continue to hold rankings within the chart. Namely, these are “Pantropiko,” “Cherry On Top,” and “Karera” at No. 13, 16, and 20 respectively.
For the rest of the chart’s top 10, Over October holds onto the No. 5 spot with “Ikot” while Cup of Joe and Janine Teñoso’s “Tingin” maintain its position at No. 6. Meanwhile, moving up 10 spots this week is young rapper Robledo Timido’s viral hit “Gusto Ko Sakin Ka Lang” as it moves from No. 17 to No. 7, followed by Up Dharma Down’s “Tadhana” at No. 8. Rounding up the chart’s top 10 this week are Arthur Nery with “TAKE ALL THE LOVE” at No. 9 and Eliza Maturan with her breakthrough single “Museo” at No. 10.
