The long-awaited cast of PETA’s (Philippine Educational Theatre Association) stage adaptation of the 2007 blockbuster “One More Chance” has finally been announced.

An entirely new set of actors and actresses have been announced to take over the popular roles of Popoy and Basha, who were originally portrayed by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo respectively. Taking over the lead role of Popoy is popular singer-celebrity Sam Concepcion, who is set to share the role with actor CJ Novato. Cast in the role of Basha are actresses Anna Luna and Nicole Omillo, while Kiara Takahashi and Sheena Belarmino are set to portray Tricia, with Jef Flores and Jay Gonzaga are set to portray the character of Mark.

The official cast announcement was made by PETA on the evening of January 28 (Sunday), while the musical itself was announced last October 22. 2023 in the curtain call of their production “Walang Aray”. Ben&Ben‘s music is also set to serve as the soundtrack to the highly-anticipated musical, with the band even performing their hit songs “Kathang Isip” and “Araw-Araw” during the final show of Walang Aray. The upcoming stage adaptation of Cathy Garcia-Molina’s One More Chance is expected to begin its theatrical this April 12, 2024, up to June 16, 2024, at the PETA Theatre Center.

The hit film One More Chance was released under Star Cinema back in 2007, starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo as the film’s main characters, Popoy and Basha. One More Chance tells the story of the couple navigating their breakup and eventually starting over again a few years later. Though only the main cast announcements have been revealed, further details about the musical have yet to be announced. Stay tuned here for updates.
