The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) has finally revealed more details about the highly-anticipated musical adaptation of One More Chance, featuring the songs of Ben&Ben.
In a Facebook post uploaded at 12 midnight today (January 23), the theatre collective unveiled a cover photo version of the poster, as well as the show’s running dates. Shows for the musical commence on April 12 and will conclude on June 16. All shows will be held at the PETA Theater Center.
When the announcement was first made, Ben&Ben posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that, “We are honored for our songs to be chosen for this project. Thank you for making our dreams come true, Liwanag.”
One More Chance: The Musical was first announced last October 22, with a surprise performance from Ben&Ben at the closing show of PETA’s Walang Aray (No Pain). The widely-acclaimed One More Chance was originally released as a film under Star Cinema in 2007. The movie starred John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo as Popoy and Basha, the film’s main characters.
This is not the first time that Ben&Ben’s songs have been used as the soundtrack for various media. Most recently, a number of their songs were featured in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry, Rewind, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. Their cover of Bread’s “Make It With You” was used as the official theme song for the Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano-led television series of the same name.
