Veteran OPM bands Pedicab and Franco will be performing at Baybeats Music Festival 2024.
Today (September 12), Singapore-based Baybeats Festival released the full lineup for this year’s installment, which will be held on October 11 to 13. It was revealed that the rock-reggae fusion band Franco and synth-punk quintet Pedicab will be joined by other acts hailing from countries all over Asia, like KIKI from Thailand, LITE from Japan, and many more.
This announcement follows Franco’s recent collaboration in April of this year with artist Mesklun on their track “Elevate.” Additionally, the band released a single earlier in February of this year, titled “The Fool.” Pedicab, on the other hand, released their moody track, “Balyena,” in October last year.
Previously representing the Philippines on the Baybeats stage last year were SOS and Urbandub, who brought both the indie and heavy rock sides of OPM to the sunny island of Singapore. The bands performed on second and third day of the festival respectively, amassing a following overseas. It also marked SOS’ return to the Baybeats stage, after performing on the festival’s Annexe Stage eight years prior.
Celebrating Asian acts from all around the globe, Baybeats Esplanade is an annual music festival that welcomes “the best of Singapore and beyond.” Dubbed as Singapore’s largest free alternative festival, the event takes place across different outdoor and indoor venues along the bay area of Singapore. The festival combines indie sounds with the glowing lights of the central business district’s skyline.
Details regarding ticketing and merchandise are soon to follow, along with their complete lineup. Follow their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram to stay tuned for more information.
