Urbandub are holding a reunion show this August.

On July 11, the Cebu-hailing rock icons announced that they are set reunite their classic lineup — composed of vocalist and guitarist Gabby Alipe, guitarist John Dinopol, bassist Lalay Lim, and drummer JanJan Mendoza — for a special gig in Cebu. Dubbed ‘Sound The Alarm – The Reunion,’ the show is set to happen this August 10 at Cafe Racer in Mandaue City. They will be joined by Powerspoonz, Selah Dub Warriors, and Toothpeak. The band initially teased the show last June 28.

Ticketing details have yet to be announced. Watch this space for updates.

Urbandub was formed in 2000, going on to release a discography of six phenomenal rock albums — the latest being Esoteric in 2013 — before they went on a hiatus in 2015 after their farewell concert ‘Endless.’ Following this, Alipe would launch a solo career and Dinopol would join hard rock outfit Faspitch. The two would also occasionally perform together as Gab and John.

The band’s classic lineup would then briefly reunite in 2018 to play two special shows. In the same year, they made their official return — minus Mendoza — with Alipe, Dinopol, and Lim reuniting, and officially enlisting longtime sessionist Russell Manaloto (also of Faspitch) on guitar and Sam Saludsong on drums.

Last November, Urbandub released their 2003 breakthrough album Influence on vinyl, with a second pressing now available via Backspacer Records. Meanwhile, the band’s current lineup also released Rebirth in 2023 — a rerecording of their debut album Birth.
