K-pop superstars SEVENTEEN have just announced the release of the official concert film for their recently concluded ‘FOLLOW TO’ World Tour.
The highly anticipated concert film documents their set of sold-out shows at Seoul’s World Cup Stadium from earlier this April, and is scheduled for an early release in South Korea beginning this August 14, 2024. The film will be distributed in the country by their local cinema chain, CGV, with tickets available for reservation beginning July 23 onwards.
Though international screenings have yet to be announced, SEVENTEEN teased in their official announcement video that fans “around the world” may be able to watch the concert film in their cities. According to member Joshua, “Carats (SEVENTEEN’s fanbase) around the world [are] welcome to this special cinema presentation of our 2024 concert at Korea’s Seoul World Cup Stadium.”
Marking a milestone for the 13-piece group, their headlining shows at the Seoul World Stadium occurred on April 27 and 28 of this year and served as the group’s initial encore shows following their ‘Follow’ tour across Asia from late 2023 to early 2024. According to the film’s official website, the concert film is also set to include performances of their new songs from their recently released greatest hits album, 17 Is Right Here, including the lead single “Maestro,” alongside unit songs “Spell,” “LALALI,” and “Cheers to youth.”
International and Filipino fans can access the film’s website here to sign up for future updates from Trafalgar, the company behind the film’s production and distribution. Ticket sales for future screenings will also be announced and made available through the same website very soon.
Earlier this year, SEVENTEEN took their ‘Follow To’ Tour to the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan, which made them the first musical guests to perform in such a massive venue here in the Philippines. Their set of sold-out two night shows was a massive success for the group and was mentioned to be their highest-grossing concert ever.
Billboard Philippines described the show to be more to be more than “just a concert” in our review, as it was a “celebration of love and unity, an unspoken pact between the band and their fans to weather any storm together.” Both days of the revelatory concert were rightfully sold out, as it was a perfect example of showmanship on the grandest scale that went on a whole other level. As the show was described, “SEVENTEEN’s ability to bridge the gap between the stage and the crowd is what elevates their concerts into more than a musical spectacle. It becomes a shared experience, a celebration of a bond that’s uniquely ours and theirs.”
