A year ago, Billboard Philippines introduced its inaugural P-pop Rising Class, shining a spotlight on six groups poised to help shape the genre’s next chapter: G22, VXON, GAT, ALAMAT, BGYO, and KAIA. At the time, each act represented a different facet of an industry in motion—one defined by artistic ambition, devoted fan communities, and an expanding appetite for homegrown pop.

In 2026, the momentum has only grown stronger. Across the past year, these groups have released new music, mounted headline concerts, embarked on international tours, earned major accolades, and continued refining their identities as performers. While their journeys have unfolded in different ways, each milestone speaks to the continued evolution of P-pop as a thriving force in Filipino music.

As we welcome a new class of rising acts, here’s a look at where last year’s honorees are today — and the achievements that prove why they remain among the genre’s most exciting artists to watch.

Since being inducted as part of Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class of 2025 and gracing the cover of Billboard Philippines’ June 2025 print issue alongside ALAMAT, the Female Alphas of P-pop, G22, have come a long way.

Released at the end of 2025, their eight-track debut studio album, The Dissection of Eve, marked a milestone for the trio, further cementing their status as one of the more prolific recording groups in the P-pop scene. Since their debut in 2022, AJ, Alfea, and Jaz have always had a strong connection with the stage, enthralling audiences with their energetic performances 100% of the time.

In March, G22 were named the Rising Star honorees at Billboard Philippines Women in Music 2026, a milestone that pushes them to excel and fuels the fire of what they can still achieve.

This July, the trio is set to hold their first-ever headlining concert at the New Frontier Theater. Another milestone in the books, the concert opens up a new chapter for G22, one where they get to truly showcase who they really are as artists, not just to their fandom, Bullets, but also to music fans who are seeing them live for the first time. – Ralph Regis

They held their first-ever headlining concert, ‘Kalawakan,’ at the SM North EDSA Skydome, which the group described as celebrating what they have worked on for the last few years since their debut in 2022. Following it up immediately with their second major solo concert, ‘Kalawakan: The Evolution’ this June, VIXIES, their official fandom, can expect to be part of the experience and connect more with the group.

From being named Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class of 2025, GAT had already captured public attention even prior to their official debut. First making waves through their viral rendition of “Daleng Dale,” the five-member act — composed of Ethan, Charles, Michael, Hans, and Derick — have since then sustained their early buzz, releasing reimagined OPM classics such as South Border’s “Rainbow” and Juan Caoile and Kyleswish’s “Marikit.” With the release of their official debut single “Kakaiba” in August 2025, followed by original tracks including “Kembot” and “Kapag Ngumingiti Ka,” GAT gradually carved out an identity beyond covers and soundtrack hits.

A year after their inclusion in the P-pop Rising Class, the hitmaking boy group have claimed that there are no limits to their sound. With a name that stands for “Gawang Atin ‘To,” GAT proudly represent Filipino music, taking inspiration from modern-day “harana” and homegrown artists like James Reid. Their rapid rise has earned them recognition both locally and abroad, including a feature in Billboard Georgia’s first-ever global editorial campaign, NEXT GEN, and a nomination for Favorite New Group Artist at the 38th Awit Awards.

From headlining mall shows and live gigs to performing on national television and local festivals, GAT have steadily built a name for themselves — and now, they are set to return to the Billboard Philippines stage for P-POP UNITE: The Convention on June 24, 2026 at SPACE at One Ayala, Makati City. – Andrea Manuel
