KAIA have joined forces with Zack Tabudlo for an exciting new single.
Announced exclusively through Billboard Philippines, the P-pop girl group have come out with a brand-new dreamy track written and produced by the “Binibini” hitmaker, entitled “TANGA” (“Idiot”). It was released today, March 28, 2025 (Friday).
The release of “TANGA” serves as KAIA’s first release of the year and is the follow-up to the dreamy bubblegum pop track “Walang Biruan,” released on September 27, 2024, and its “Christmas Rush” remix, which came out on December 13, 2024.
In an exclusive statement to Billboard Philippines, KAIA shared their excitement about collaborating with Tabudlo, revealing that he actually messaged them first to ask if he could give them a song he wrote specifically for them. “Hindi namin aakalain na gagawan ‘nya kami ng kanta! We love his songs and talagang fans kami. We’re very happy na nag-reach out siya sa amin!”
(We never expected that he would make a song for us! We love his songs and we’re fans. We’re very happy that he reached out to us!)
In recording the song, the members of KAIA reveal that they found themselves pushed out of their comfort zone, discovering new abilities as vocalists that they did not know they were capable of thanks to Tabudlo. “Marami rin kaming na-discover na new skills, like mag-adlib ng mga ganitong notes or mag-harmonize nang ganito, (We also discovered a lot of new skills, like to adlib these kinds of notes or to harmonize that way),” they further shared, expressing their gratitude to Tabudlo for his guidance. “Kay Zack lang namin siya natutunan and we’re very grateful kasi ang dami na ‘nyang na-share about sa pag-craft ng songs (We only learned about these through Zack and we’re very grateful because has already shared a lot to us about crafting songs).”
KAIA initially teased “TANGA” at FUSION: The Philippine Music Festival 2025 last March 15 (Saturday), where they performed it live for the very first time.
