Justin is coming back with a new song this July.

Last July 7 — the day of his 26th birthday — Justin of SB19 teased the release of his next single. He did so via a TikTok video, which sees him singing along to a snippet of the unreleased, dreamy track. On July 8, he posted another TikTok video, revealing that the song is set to be released on July 19.

On July 10, he revealed the title of the song to be “Kaibigan” (“Friend”) and announced that it will be released at 12 AM (PHT) on the 19th. Based on the lyrics, “Kaibigan” seems to be from the point-of-view of someone who can’t stop thinking about what a friend of theirs — that they seemingly like — actually feels for them.

The new song will follow his debut single “surreal,” released last February 29, and his cover of Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning,” released last April 14.

Alongside revealing the track’s title, Justin also unveiled a schedule poster, which features him and actress Nicole Omillo — best known for her role as Kierra in The Rain In España. The schedule indicates that the song’s cover art will be revealed on July 11, while also teasing something pertaining to “sa pag-alon ng dagat” [the way the sea makes waves] on July 13, and something about “kaibigan ko” [“my friend”] on July 15. Meanwhile, the accompanying music video for the song will have its teaser released on July 17 before the song and the video’s official release on July 19.

Justin’s comeback follows the release of fellow SB19 members Felip‘s debut solo album 7sins as well as Stell‘s debut single “Room.” Together, SB19 recently became the first Filipino act to appear on the popular Japanese YouTube channel The First Take, performing their track “Gento.” Meanwhile, they are also currently nominated for Favorite Asian Act at this year’s Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, with the voting period lasting until July 13.
