Paramore fans, fret not –– they’re still making music together.

The esteemed American rock band is set to make a return following their ambiguous announcement and social media cleanse with their song for A24 Music‘s upcoming tribute album to Talking Heads, titled Stop Making Sense: A Tribute Album. Though fans of the group were worried about a potential breakup, a report from Variety also made it clear that Paramore is looking for a ‘fresh start’ and a ‘fresh record deal’ following the fulfillment of their contract with Atlantic Records.

Their participation in the project was announced through a teaser video posted on their Instagram page, which showcased a snippet of their cover of “Burning Down The House” taken from the forthcoming record. Seen in the clip is frontwoman Hayley Williams receiving an unknown package that was delivered to her house, and upon opening it, she finds the iconic oversized suit worn by Talking Heads frontman David Byrne in the band’s concert film, Stop Making Sense.

The upcoming tribute record, which has no release date of now, will feature sixteen artists covering each of the sixteen songs on the critically acclaimed live album from the 1983 concert film. Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense was re-released in theatres last year by A24, who restored the film in 4K Ultra HD resolution in honor of the concert’s 40th anniversary. Though the New York-based entertainment company is renowned worldwide for its independent films, A24 Music serves as its record imprint which is primarily used for soundtrack releases.

In 2023, Paramore released their sixth studio album, This Is Why, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 charts with 64,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, with 47,000 of them comprised of pure album sales. The album was also nominated at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance for its title track. Later in the year, the group also released their first remix album (and final one under Atlantic Records), titled Re: This Is Why which featured guest appearances from Julien Baker, Remi Wolf, Wet Leg, Zane Lowe, Foals, and more.
