Paramore have recently opened up on what the future holds for the band, sharing that there is a “level of uncertainty” moving forward.

In a recent interview with Uproxx, the beloved pop-punk band — which comprises frontwoman Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro revealed that a chapter has now come to the end with the completion of their latest album, This Is Why. Paramore shared, both in their interview and later via social media, that after releasing the record and touring around North America, Europe, and South America throughout the last year, they have now fulfilled all obligations with their label and are now free agents.

With this, the band shared that it is unclear what this means for the future of Paramore but adding that they’ll still be together no matter what happens. “The only thing that matters is we will still get to be each other’s community,” Williams says to Uproxx. Farro echos, “I just hope we can keep building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.”

Paramore released This Is Why in February 2023. The album served as the highly anticipated follow up to 2017’s After Laughter. Ahead of the release — their first in five years, Williams penned a letter detailing what it’s been like preparing for their return as a trio and how they were about to experience the “happiest, most fulfilling moments as Paramore”.

“The idea of getting out there and doing what we do at a time like this feels heavy and futile and necessary all at once. It also feels like the perfect time to take advantage of every opportunity we are given to leverage our platform and all of that for good causes. Whether those are literal causes or whether it’s just about showing ourselves and each other that music is still a good place to be,” wrote Williams in a letter shared to the band’s Discord. “For many reasons I don’t even have words for, I think we are about to experience our happiest, most fulfilling moments as Paramore.”

In 2024, Paramore will be opening for the European leg of Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour.
