In time for World Oceans Day, Thai electronic artist-environmentalist NOTEP (Note Panayanggool) releases “Crystalize” on June 8, 2026, the second single from her upcoming PAKARANG extended play (EP).

The single builds from NOTEP’s exploration of the quiet parallels between coral reefs, the ocean, and the human body, as first explored with the lead single of the EP, “Radio,” which was released on Earth Day in April.

“[The track] is a piece about surrender, trust, and transformation,” NOTEP explains. “Blending ethereal vocals, electronic beats, and synths inspired by the movement of ocean waves, the track explores letting go and trusting that nature can guide us back to ourselves.”

NOTEP describes the song as “a reminder that clarity comes when we stop resisting the current,” with it taking inspiration from the way coral, crystals, and the human spirit are shaped through pressure and time.

For the accompanying visual, NOTEP continues her collaboration with digital artist Cyrus James Khan, making use of green-screen footage filmed entirely at home and a sci-fi ocean landscape. The music video further showcases the artist’s philosophy, which is that whatever moves through the natural world doesn’t disappear but changes form.

Additionally, a live session was filmed in a protected mangrove forest in Rayong, Thailand, as part of the Mangroove project, co-founded by NOTEP. The session is the debut episode of a live music and documentary series featuring musicians performing in the area, “to raise awareness about mangroves, their biodiversity, and the importance of protecting these ecosystems.”

The six-track PAKARANG EP releases on September 4. According to NOTEP in an earlier interview with Billboard Philippines, the EP is all about quiet refusal in a landscape filled with noise. It “moves through different emotional states that mirror inner transformation,” and “each track [carries] a different energy, but together they feel like a journey back to yourself.”
