NewJeans Release ‘How Sweet’ Mini-Album

NewJeans are back and better than ever with the release of their latest mini-album, How Sweet.

Comprising of two tracks and their instrumental renditions, the titular “How Sweet” and “Bubble Gum” mark the latest comeback for Hanni, Minji, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein following the release of their 2022 extended play Get Up, the recent drop of their first-ever remixRemixA new version of an existing song created by altering or reworking its elements, such as tempo, key, instrumentation, or vocals. Three weeks ago, the group gave their fans their first glimpse off the record with the music videoMusic VideoA short film that accompanies a song, combining performance, storytelling, and visual style to promote the music. Music videos shape an artist's image, can drive viral success and fan theories,Go to Music Video Glossary to “Bubble Gum” –– which sees the five members enjoying a nostalgia-filled road trip with themes reminiscent of the coming-of-age experience of youth and girlhood. The track’s use of modern city-pop influences tinged with their signature R&B and K-pop elements introduces a new sound for the beloved girl group, showcasing just how versatile their sound continues to be amidst the ever-evolving sound of the Korean music industry.

In addition to How Sweet, NewJeans is also set to release another mini-album next month on June 21, titled Supernatural, and will mark their first Japanese debut. The release of Supernatural will precede the group’s two-day fan meet in the Tokyo Dome in Japan happening next June 26 and 27, 2024.
