Megumi Acorda, Bird., And Irrevocable To Join ‘The End Is Beautiful Fest’ In Hong Kong This December

Megumi Acorda, bird., and Irrevocable are heading to Hong Kong later this year.
On September 18, Desperate Infant Records – a Hong Kong record store with a focus on punk, emo, and hardcore music – announced that they are set to hold their year-ender event, The End is Beautiful Fest, once again this 2024. With a total of four bands set to play, the lineup features three Filipino alternative acts: shoegaze favorites Megumi Acorda, dream pop supergroup bird., and emo punk mainstays Irrevocable. They will be joined by Hong Kong post-hardcore group The Priceless Boat.
The show is set to happen this December 8 (Sunday) at The Wanch in Wan Chai, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. Tickets are priced online at HKD 400 and are available here. Meanwhile, tickets at the door will be priced at HKD 500.
“Following the success of last year‘s event, we are thrilled to bring together an exciting lineup of underground bands from the Philippines and Hong Kong for a night of unforgettable performances,” stated Desperate Infant Records in the announcement post. “As we close out the year, immerse yourself in a night filled with raw emotion, high-energy performances, and the beauty of music that resonates with the soul.”

Meanwhile, bird’s frontman, Eco Del Rio, is slated to represent the band as well as the Philippines at this year’s AXEAN – the “first intra-regional music showcase event in Southeast Asia,” alongside Maki, Munimuni, crwn, Muri, and more in Bali, Indonesia this September 28-29.
In other news, Megumi Acorda are set go on 4-date tour of Japan this month, beginning from September 22 to 26. Learn more about the tour here. Before playing The End is Beautiful Fest, the band is also set to play in Shanghai on December 6 and in Guangzhou on December 7. Meanwhile, Irrevocable recently wrapped up playing two shows of their own in Japan, playing alongside Mindless Pop in Tokyo.
