bird. seem to be gearing up for their first vinyl release.
On August 10, Desperate Infant Records — a Hong Kong-based record store specializing in punk, emo, and hardcore music — posted on their Instagram story a video of a vinyl record playing bird.’s “the stranger” — the third track from the band’s debut album oshin — with the caption “Stay Tuned,” teasing a special release.
Following this, the dream pop quartet reposted the story on their own Instagram account a few hours later, stating, “Secret lang (Just a secret) but if you want in, follow @desperate.infant.records,” seemingly confirming the pressing of oshin on vinyl. Released last July 2023, the album also features the tracks “ride,” “san juan,” as well as bird.’s debut single “weekend.”
Earlier this year, the band went on a tour in support of oshin — including a performance at Wanderland 2024 — that spanned a four-month period. Last August 6, they were announced as one out of five Filipino acts set to join this year’s AXEAN — the “first intra-regional music showcase event in Southeast Asia,” alongside Maki, Munimuni, crwn, and Muri, in Bali, Indonesia.
