BLACKPINK’s LISA To Premiere Documentary Film At The Toronto International Film Festival
The BLACKPINK rapper and solo artist is making ground not just in music, but in film as well with her upcoming documentary film.

LISA is set to premiere her upcoming documentary film Always Lalisa in the Gala programme at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, which will take place from September 10 to 20, 2026.
A specific release date is yet to be announced on August 11 on the festival’s website. The site describes that Always Lalisa will be an “intimate and transformative documentary tracing her journey from childhood ambition through BLACKPINK stardom into the artist she is today.”
Other details include that the film will run exactly 97 minutes long and features dialogue in English, Thai, and Korean. The film is produced by Sony Music Vision and directed by Sue Kim, who also directed the 2024 documentary film The Last of the Sea Women.
Lalisa Manobal, known famously as LISA, made her global mark as a member of the K-pop sensation BLACKPINK, which also features members JISOO, ROSÉ, and JENNIE. Signed under YG Entertainment, the group has come to be one of the biggest girl groups worldwide, releasing such megahits as “How You Like That,” “Pink Venom,” and “Kill This Love,” which all have over one billion streams each.
As a solo artist, LISA made her debut with her 2021 single “LALISA.” In 2025, she released her first studio album Alter Ego, which featured Rosalía, Tyla, Future, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Raye.
Recently, LISA headlined for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony, where she performed her single “Goals” alongside singers Anitta and Rema.
Always Lalisa marks another addition to her filmography. Previously, the rapper turned actor made her official acting debut in 2025 in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, where she was credited as Lalisa Manobal.
