To coincide with the release of their latest animated film Wish, Disney has tapped Idol Philippines winner, Zephanie, to perform the Filipino rendition of the track ‘This Wish’ –– titled ‘Aking Hiling.’
On her social media platforms, Zephanie expressed her gratitude to Disney for the opportunity to perform the main song from the film, stating: “I believe that great things truly come at the right time and season of our lives. And I just can’t put into words how happy and grateful I feel for being given the opportunity to sing “Aking Hiling” — the localized version of “This Wish” from the soundtrack of Disney’s Wish.”

“Thank you to everyone who made it possible! Thank you to all the people who believe in me,” she added. “I am so grateful for all the love and support you have given me since day one, so I wanna share this blessing with all of you!” she stated.
This marks the second official collaboration of the pop star with Disney Philippines, as she performed “When You Wish Upon a Star” from the movie Pinocchio during the launch of the company’s streaming service Disney+. Alongside Zephanie were Janella Salvador and Stell of SB19, who also performed their own renditions of classic Disney songs during the event.
In partnership with Disney Philippines, Salvador and Moira Dela Torre have previously collaborated with the cultural juggernaut –- with Salvador releasing her own take on “How Far I’ll Go” from 2016’s Moana, and Dela Torre dropping her version of “Reflection” from 2020’s live-action version of Mulan.
The original English version of ‘This Wish‘ was performed by Academy Award-winner Ariana DeBose, who also portrays the lead character in the film that co-stars Chris Pine, Harvey Guillen, Alan Tudyk, Evan Peters, and Ramy Youssef. Disney’s Wish was just released worldwide today, November 22.
