BLACKPINK are coming back to your area near you sooner than you think.

The group of K-pop superstars is slated for a comeback next year in 2025 and have plans to embark on a world tour within the same year. The news was shared by YG Entertainment’s founder and producer Yang Hyun Suk, who made the announcement on the label’s official YouTube channel. “I can’t say we have specific plans yet, but I think a lot of artists will be active simultaneously. There will be a highly anticipated comeback from Blackpink and it will also be the year Blackpink starts their world tour,” Hyun Suk mentioned.

Also announced in the video were the impending world tours of the label’s two other talents, rookie girl group BABYMONSTER and boy group Treasure, while Hyun Suk also teased an upcoming group in the making, although little details have yet to be officially announced. The surprise comeback of K-pop icons 2NE1 was also shared in the video, with the celebrated founder sharing details regarding the planned festivities for their reunion. The latter is set to embark on a world tour beginning this October in Seoul, before continuing to other territories worldwide later on in 2025 as well.

It was announced last December 2023 that the four members of BLACKPINK had renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment, following months of rampant speculation concerning the fate of the group’s re-signing to the label. However, it is worth noting that all four members did not sign back to YG Entertainment as solo artists, as Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo all established their own record labels, while Rosé signed on to Teddy Park’s THE BLACK LABEL.

Just recently, Lisa released her first solo comeback outside of YG Entertainment — dropping the chart-topping “Rockstar” — which peaked at No. 8 on Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100. It was also announced that the group will be releasing a new concert film that chronicles their BORN PINK world tour, particularly their group’s performances from the Gocheok Dome in Seoul, as well as footage from other locations throughout the tour’s entirety. The film is scheduled to begin screenings nationwide on July 31, 2024, with tickets available for purchase here.
