BLACKPINK are bringing their successful BORN PINK world tour to the big screen.
On June 20, the iconic K-pop quartet announced that they are set to celebrate their debut’s eighth anniversary with the premiere of a special concert film this July. Entitled BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS, the movie will detail the group’s world tour in support of their second album BORN PINK, held from October 2022 to September 2023, with 66 concerts across 22 different countries.
The tour — described as “the highest-grossing tour from an Asian act and a female group in history” — drew an audience of 1.8 million, with Billboard ranking it at no. 10 on their 2023 Year-End Top 40 Tours chart worldwide.
The film is said to include the group’s performances from Gocheok Dome in Seoul, as well as footage from other locations throughout the tour’s entirety. It will feature the tour’s iconic hanok (a traditional Korean house) set, highlighting an “unprecedented production scale” while also presenting unique live arrangements of BLACKPINK’s hit songs.
Premiering in more than 110 countries, limited screenings of the film start on July 31, with fans having the option to experience the film in three special formats wherever available: ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX.
Global tickets will be available starting June 27 at 11:00 PM (PHT), while Korea tickets go on sale on July 17. Fans may sign up for updates via the film’s official website.
