Ariana Grande, the iconic American pop sensation, has made her long-awaited comeback with the release of “yes, and?“
The electronic house-inspired track was released today, January 12, out via Republic Records and features production from Swedish hitmaker Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh.
Grande’s return to music serves as the first glimpse into her upcoming studio album, which has been revealed to be titled Eternal Sunshine, and is expected to be released this March 8. Fans of the popstar, lovingly dubbed the “Arianators”, attuned to Grande’s subtle hints strategically posted on dates featuring the number seven, was quick to anticipate the imminent release. The pop star initially teased her musical comeback in December in a series of posts posted to Instagram, which sparked speculation among enthusiasts about the potential launch of a new album.
It was also announced that the music video to “yes, and?” will be released later today at 11 PM (7 AM PST), with the first teaser being posted to Grande’s page. The video, which pokes fun at the criticism that Grande has received regarding her private life, also features the location coordinates of Montauk, New York, which is the setting of the popular film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”
Last year, Grande treated her audience to a remix of The Weeknd‘s “Die For You,” a move that swiftly ascended to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This remix marked her musical endeavor following the release of “Just Look Up,” an original song with Kid Cudi for the Netflix film “Don’t Look Up” in December 2021. Reflecting on her illustrious career, Grande made her debut in 2013 with “Yours Truly” and continued to captivate audiences with subsequent releases like “My Everything” (2014), “Dangerous Woman” (2016), “sweetener” (2018), “thank u, next” (2019), and “positions” (2020).
Accumulating accolades throughout her career, Grande boasts two Grammy Awards: Best Pop Vocal Album for sweetener in 2019 and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga in 2021, as well as two Billboard Music Awards for both Top Female Artist and Billboard Chart Achievement Award in 2019. Additionally, Grande was also awarded the Woman of the Year Award in 2018 for Billboard’s Women in Music celebration.
