P-pop boy group WRIVE invite listeners to hit the dance floor with their latest single, “Sumayaw Ka.”
Released on September 4, 2026, the five-member boy group officially dropped their reimagined version of Gloc-9‘s iconic 2007 track following a series of social media videos previewing the song’s choreography. Featuring singer and It’s Showtime host, Cianne Dominguez, the release puts a fresh spin on a classic OPM hip-hop track.
Originally written and performed by one of the best Filipino rappers of all time, “Sumayaw Ka” carries an uplifting message about facing life’s challenges without losing sight of one’s dreams. The song encourages listeners to keep moving past all the setbacks, using dance as a metaphor for perseverance.
With WRIVE’s rendition, the group gives the hip-hop track a modern pop treatment while retaining its motivational message. Produced by Darren Cashwell and WRIVE member Russu, the new version gives the song the P-pop boy group’s contemporary sound.
Its lyrics deliver an invitation to keep dancing despite life’s hardships: “’Wag kang matakot sumayaw / Katawan ay igalaw, sige, sumayaw ka / Kahit na sunod-sunod pa’ng kamalasan ang abutin mo / ‘Wag kang mag-alala, limutin ang problema.“
The release comes shortly after Russu represented WRIVE alongside fellow P-pop group VVINK at the Philippine Selection Night on August 31, 2026. The P-pop acts performed “Round N’ Round,” their entry for the selection of the Philippines’ representative to the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026.
WRIVE are composed of members Drei, Asi, Russu, Mathew, and Ishiro. Managed by ABS-CBN Polaris Management and signed under Star Music, the five-member act officially debuted on July 16, 2025. They released their self-titled debut album, WRIVE, in January 2026, featuring the tracks “Ooh La La,” “Señorita,” and “Panaginip Na Lang.”
