P-pop girl group OONA. have released their second single, “Unang Tingin,” marking a bold shift in sound as they encourage listeners to look beyond first impressions.
The five-member girl group officially dropped the track on September 4, 2026, moving away from the bright, bubblegum pop of their debut, “DARAMA,” which was released on May 1, 2026.
Embracing a fiercer and more confident musical direction, “Unang Tingin” centers on the idea of looking beyond outward appearances. Through the song, OONA. push back against being defined solely by what people see on the surface, asserting that there is more to their identity and strength than meets the eye.
The group began teasing the single via social media on August 25, 2026, when they changed their profile picture to their logo against a sparkling diamond background. This was followed by a series of teasers revealing sections of the song’s lyrics.
The song emphasizes its message with the lines: “There’s more to me than you see / More than my skin and body / Fearless heart, reflecting beauty,” highlighting the group’s desire to showcase the story behind their strength and confidence.
OONA. first performed “Unang Tingin” live during Unang Tingin: The Debut Launch held on July 31, 2026 at Matrix Creation Events Venue in Quezon City. The event also marked an important milestone for the group as they were officially introduced as the newest addition to Star Music’s growing roster of homegrown P-pop artists.
During the launch, members Isaki, Coleen, Jaylou, Kari, and Bella were formally welcomed to the Star Music family by ABS-CBN Music Head Roxy Liquigan, ABS-CBN Head of Content, Creatives, and Operations Jonathan Manalo, and Star Music label head Andie Arellano.
