Irish rock titans The Script are back with their latest single, “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall.”

Set to appear on the band’s forthcoming eighth studio album, The User’s Guide to Being Human, arriving on August 14, 2026, the track serves as an ode to nostalgia and lifelong friendships. It captures the monumental joy and sense of community experienced by audiences during Oasis’ massive Live ’25 reunion tour, while reflecting on how friends can reconnect through shared experiences years later.

Speaking as a huge Oasis fan himself, frontman Danny O’Donoghue shares how the stadium indie-rock anthem is both personal and resonant with audiences, saying, “I don’t think Liam and Noel knew the full impact of what they were doing when they got back together. Because a lot of their fanbase, they’re lads, middle-aged guys, and a lot of them have a similar scenario where they’re not talking to a brother or a friend, and they’re trying to be a man’s man about it.

Ultimately, the message of reconciliation, second chances, and rebirth has resonated deeply across cultures and walks of life, including in Asia. In 207, the band is set to return to the region with shows in Singapore, Indonesia, and, of course, the Philippines — where they will hold three shows from March 18 to 20, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

“The title is what this album is about,” O’Donoghue reflects. “If you need something to remind you of the spectrum of feelings and emotions that make you feel human, this is it.” “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall” arrives following the album’s lead single “Man in the Arena,” released in May 2026.

Recorded in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, the album reunites O’Donoghue with collaborators Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner, and Jimbo Barry — the team behind some of the band’s biggest hits, including “Hall of Fame,” “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved,” and “Breakeven.”
