Acclaimed Filipino indie rock sextet spacedog spacecat have released a brand new single entitled “Blue” on Thursday, November 20 on all streaming platforms. The new track will be celebrated via a launch party on Friday, November 21 at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City, with Eggboy, hazylazy, and Identikit serving as support acts.

Billboard Philippines was given the opportunity to listen to the new single ahead of its release, and it is likely to please the longtime fans of the band’s melodic and fuzz-laden indie rock sound. Putting Janine Samaniego’s violin and the band’s indie pop-flavored boy-girl harmonies at the forefront, the track is a natural progression of their Fuzz Sounds formula, with hints of Weezer and Broken Social Scene, and a welcome addition to spacedog spacecat’s consistently excellent discography.

“Blue” is spacedog spacecat’s first release since 2024’s dual singles “One More Time (Fuzzbucket)” and “Sky Is Burning.” Prior to these, the band released the singles “Okaeri” and “Counting The Days” in 2023, and their debut full-length record Fuzz Sounds in 2022. In a post on their Facebook page in September, the band announced that their second album is “in the works.”
