Becky Lynch, WWE’s reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion, debuted a new entrance theme performed by pop-punk/alternative band The Wonder Years during Night 2 of WWE SummerSlam, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, on August 4, 2025 (PH time).
The Irish-born WWE wrestler walked out to the theme ahead of her No Disqualification title match against challenger Lyra Valkyria, marking a new entrance theme in over a decade. While the new theme is entirely different, it retained the iconic intro line, “The Man Has Come Around.”
Lynch successfully retained her title and per the match stipulation, Valkyria can no longer challenger for the championship as long as Lynch holds it. The two were former allies who even captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship earlier this year. However, their partnership ended when Lynch turned heel and attacked Valkyria on the April 21, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw.
The new entrance theme replaces “Celtic Invasion,” which had been associated with some of Lynch’s most iconic career moments in the WWE, including taking part in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
The Wonder Years, a Pennsylvania-based band formed in 2005, are known for their blend of pop-punk and alternative rock. They’re also one of the favorite bands of current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who is married to Lynch.
Meanwhile, in one of SummerSlam weekend’s biggest surprises, Rollins made a shocking return during Night 1. Moments after CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship, Rollins appeared, threw away his crutches, attacked Punk, and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to reclaim the title. His knee injury and surprise cash-in was dubbed “the ruse of the century” by pro wrestling fans.
