When Mikha Lim isn’t busy performing and moving on stage with BINI, she continues to move and shape her own creative pursuits.

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, the multi-hyphenate artist opened up about MILI, an activewear and lifestyle brand and, most importantly, a passion project that Mikha has been cooking up since mid-2025.

The name, which takes the first two syllables of her first and last names, also stands for “Move. Intend. Lifestyle. Inspire.”

The idea first came when she was looking to start up a business that really resonated with her. When she’s away from the musical spotlight, she spends her time staying active. With the fuss going all around physical activities and sports such as bouldering, tennis, and pickleball, MILI comes in just at the right time.

You see, sports and Mikha aren’t really worlds apart. Before starting her music journey with BINI, she played volleyball in high school, where she also served as an athlete and cheerleader. Her love for sports and movement never went away.

MILI’s debut collection, First Form, draws from her own active lifestyle. “If you look at the Flow Set — the one I wore most of the time in the campaign videos — it’s a pair of flared pants with long sleeves. I always wear those types of clothes a lot,” Mikha shares.

Mikha is very conservative and says she isn’t one for revealing outfits. This also reflects her vision for MILI, where she and her team make sure that every piece remains classy and elegant.

“It’s very flattering for the body, and I make sure that all the pieces can be worn by everyone,” she adds.

While music is built around rhythm, MILI is built around movement. Tapping into her own sense of movement through MILI, Mikha says that the two ventures are quite similar.

When she’s dancing and performing, Mikha makes sure she feels comfortable, which is also a priority when she tries on pieces for the brand. For her, feeling confident and comfortable in what she wears is priority numero uno.

Another thing Mikha gets to build with her team that’s distinctly theirs is a sense of community. Apart from releasing pieces, there is a vision for MILI to be community-based, where people can start clubs, meet others, and feel more comfortable being active.

“Some people are afraid to try new things or become more active because of their body type or personality,” she explains.

The goal was to inspire everyone to engage in physical activities without feeling shy or embarrassed. Working out is one thing, but enjoying such activities is another. That’s why she focuses on the activities she truly enjoys instead of forcing herself into routines that don’t feel right for her.

Creating the MILI Club stems from Mikha’s own experience as a member of BINI and the strong community they have built with their beloved Blooms. She hopes to pay that sense of community forward through future plans for a wellness studio, complete with spaces for Pilates, performances, events, yoga, and dance classes.

Starting the brand with a community made Mikha realize how she sometimes underestimates herself. For her, it was all about “finding the right people you can trust and who also want the same things you do.”

After spending years learning how to move onstage through choreography, performances, and training, MILI became a new avenue for her to understand her personal style and the influence of movement.

“Being able to try out different clothes over the years has helped me discover my personal style,” she shares. Dancing and performing has grand movements where it can feel awkward. “That’s where you really get to test how the clothes feel and look on you,” she adds.

Just like anything else, juggling different things can be challenging. But when you really want something, you stay consistent and make time for the things that matter.

“When people say ‘I don’t have time for it,’ it’s all about priorities and what you prioritize now, and how you are able to put the priorities in your schedule,” she emphasizes.

On the matter of being herself when nobody’s watching, Mikha says that’s when you don’t need to be anything or anybody else.

“Some people, they just do things because people are watching. It shouldn’t be like that. You need to be disciplined with yourself to really embody what you stand for, what you want to happen to your life, and how to be the best version of yourself,” she shares.

More than that, it isn’t entirely just about working out, but also about being healthy and staying active. Being physically healthy also means prioritizing your mental health and trying to be as disciplined as possible.

With the First Form just a taste of what’s to come, MILI is already looking toward the future, catering to more sports with future collections heavily centered around tennis and pickleball.

There are also ideas for a premium side of the brand, utilizing premium fabrics that could make for the perfect gift for loved ones. But for Mikha and MILI, the next big thing is the studio she hopes people will be able to visit, enjoy, relax, and spend time with the spirited community.
