Today (June 19, 2025), New Zealand singer-songwriter, Lorde, announced on her official social media pages that she would release her latest single “Hammer” this Friday (June 20, 2025). Described by Lorde as an anthem dedicated to life in the city and sexuality, the song will be accompanied by a music video shot by Talia Chetrit and directed by Renell Medrano.
In the caption of her post announcing the song, she added that “Hammer” is slated to be the first song on her upcoming album, Virgin, and the last pre-release single to come out of the record. Virgin is set to come out on June 27, with the kickoff of the artist’s Ultrasound World Tour following soon after on September 17, in Austin, Texas.
This follows her latest pre-release single drop, “Man of the Year,” which debuted on streaming platforms globally last May 29. Additionally, her first musical comeback following her hiatus was the well acclaimed single, “What Was That.”
