Moira dela Torre has officially become the first-ever honoree of the Billboard Philippines Women in Music Hitmaker Award.
Filipino YouTuber and dela Torre’s close friend Mimiyuuuh presented the award to her during the inaugural Billboard Philippines Women in Music Awards at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura on March 22. In their spiel, the internet icon shared, “Tonight po is a very special night for me kasi minsan lang ang firsts sa mga buhay ng tao. First po, salamat at ang saya ko po maging part ng Women in Music ng Billboard Philippines.”
“It’s a privilege and honor to be here! Share ko lang na deserve ng friend ko itong award na ito. Her first album MALAYA was 8 times platinum and PATAWAD also went platinum last 2020. She is the most streamed Filipina artist for 7 consecutive years. Without further ado, I’d like to present my friend, the Billboard Philippines Hitmaker Awardee! Moira!”
The singer-songwriter also performed “Before It Sinks” from her stellar 2018 album, Malaya (Free). The song has over 71 million streams on Spotify to this date. Other performers at the event include Rule Breaker awardee Ena Mori, Rising Star honorees BINI, Powerhouse awardee Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, as well as Billboard Women in Music Global Force and Billboard Philippines Woman of the Year awardee Sarah Geronimo.
Dela Torre and the other honorees are featured in Billboard Philippines’ special Women in Music Issue, which is now available via sarisari.shopping.
