If there’s anything you need to know about the Filipino music industry right now, it’s that P-pop is taking over.
Whether it’s headliners for the biggest shows in the country or songs topping the charts week after week, there’s no denying the power of P-pop — but that power wields stronger when together.
Throughout the next month, Billboard Philippines is bringing together members of the biggest and most talented groups to showcase that P-pop — from its growing community whose support knows no bounds to its artists that dominate any stage they take on — shines brighter when united.
We present: P-pop Unite.
Starring ALAMAT’s Jao, AJAA’s Alex, G22’s AJ, KAIA’s Angela, VXON’s Franz, and YGIG’s Maeg, as well as Billboard Philippines’ chosen recipients of the Voices Of Asia Award: SB19 and BINI, stay tuned for a series of stories and episodes that illustrate both the diverse experiences of today’s biggest P-pop idols and their shared mission to represent the Philippines on the global stage.
P-pop Unite kicks off this week with a series of features pairing members from today’s most exciting emerging groups to talk about pushing the P-pop movement forward and the magic that surrounds it all.
We start with Alex and Maeg, who bond over being the youngest members of their groups and discuss the special brotherhood and sisterhood of P-pop. Bright-eyed and full of spirit, the bunsos talk about what it means to grow up with a supportive community by their side and live out their biggest dreams.
Meanwhile, AJ and Angela sit down to discuss what it means to lead a new generation of P-pop girl groups. As the leaders of G22 and KAIA respectively, the pair talks about the responsibility of their role and what it means to evolve and grow as artists and performers.
Finally, we have Jao and Franz talk about what truly fuels P-pop. From lyrics that tell stories that are uniquely Filipino to concepts inspired by homegrown traditions and cultures, the duo share the importance of championing the Filipino identity through their music and artistry.
The latter half of P-pop Unite continues on Billboard Philippines Volumes, where Jao, Alex, AJ, Angela, Franz, and Maeg come together to talk about helping shape an entire culture and community through their music and what the next generation of P-pop looks like.
We close out a month of P-pop with two of the genre’s biggest acts right now: SB19 and BINI. After coming together in Seoul to receive the Voices Of Asia Award at Billboard Korea’s K POWER 100 event, the powerhouses join forces once again on Volumes to talk about breaking the glass ceiling, gaining global recognition, and changing Filipino pop music as we know it.
Throughout the next month, get ready to see P-pop like never before with Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Unite.
