R&B and hip-hop artist VINCED has made his comeback with his first film single, “Sa Loob Ng Dilim” (In The Middle Of The Dark).

The song is part of the film, I Am Not Big Bird, which premiered in movie theaters nationwide on February 14. The movie follows the life of 30-year-old Luis Carpio (played by Enrique Gil), who travels to Thailand following his failed proposal to his then-girlfriend. Upon their arrival in Thailand, Carpio unfortunately gets mistaken for a popular adult film star named “Big Bird.”

VINCED premiered the track on February 16. In a press statement, his label, Kindred Productions, shared, “I Am Not Big Bird’s comedic yet heartwarming take on friendship is translated by VINCED through a song of heavy pop influence. As the film satirically captures themes that are not widely accepted in Philippine media, VINCED invites the audience to reflect on an overarching message of acceptance, growth, and maturity.”

Joining Gil in the film are comedian Red Ollero, actor Pepe Herrera, and a host of Thai actors like Wipawee Charoenpura and Sahatchai Chumrum. This is Gil’s first acting appearance since Make It With You with love team partner Liza Soberano, which was abruptly cut in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s always been my dream to make a comedy film. Before this, I was thinking if I told them I want to make a comedy, I am sure ABS-CBN would say not for now since LizQuen was really working,” said Gil in a promotional show for the movie.“[It was] super light on set, happy lang which is what I want because I felt drained with my serious roles.”
