As Typhoon Kristine continues to sweep across the Philippines, UNIS are doing their part in helping the country.

On October 24 (Thursday), the rookie K-pop girl group held a press conference with members of the Philippine media ahead of their first-ever fan concert in Manila ‘UNIS In CURIOUSland,’ which is set to happen this October 25 (Friday). As the members of UNIS took the stage, leader Hyeonju opened the media conference by thanking those in attendance for still coming despite the inclement weather caused by Typhoon Kristine (Trami).

Acknowledging how much the typhoon has gravely affected the Philippines, Hyeonju immediately announced that UNIS will be donating a portion of their first Manila fan concert’s earnings to those in need during this time. This gesture from the group is of great significance, not only because of UNIS’ huge, growing fanbase in the Philippines but also because of the octet’s three Filipino members — Gehlee, Elisia, as well as Hyeonju herself who is Korean-Filipino.

Following Hyeonju’s announcement, the rest of the members also asked to those who will be going to their fan concert to take care of themselves and to stay safe, expressing their excitement of seeing their Filipino fans — the EVERAFTERs — once more.

The first show of ‘UNIS In CURIOUSland’ in the Philippines will happen tomorrow at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Following this, the “SUPERWOMAN” hitmakers will head to Cebu for the fan concert’s second show, set to be held at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Both shows are in support of the group’s first comeback single “CURIOUS,” released last August 6.
