Typecast are celebrating 20 years of The Infatuation Is Always There with a vinyl release this year.

In November 2023, the emo/alternative rock icons announced that they would be pressing their album The Infatuation Is Always There on vinyl for the first time, slated for a 2024 release.

The vinyl is set to be put out by Eikon Records, who also recently handled the reissue of Greyhoundz’ 7 Corners of Your Game on vinyl. “We are grateful for the opportunity to put out the 20th Anniversary edition of this iconic album. This is going to be fun,” they stated in a Facebook post made last May 17, officially confirming that work on producing the vinyl was officially underway.

On September 13, the record store revealed more details about the vinyl, announcing its expected released to be this coming December. The vinyl release will be a 2-LP set that comes with a 16-page booklet of artwork and lyrics by Typecast frontman Steve Badiola. In addition to this, they also revealed that the vinyl will include a bonus brand-new unreleased track from the band.

Further updates in early October revealed the vinyl’s center label art as well as Eikon Records asking fans of Typecast for short statements regarding what they love about the album, with best ones set to be chosen and added to the liner notes.

On October 16, Eikon Records officially opened the pre-orders for the record. Limited to only 234 copies, the vinyl is priced at PHP 3,500 each, with the record store updating the expected release date to be around this late December to early January 2025. In addition to this, they also revealed more of the vinyl release’s contents, including old photos of Typecast as well as the custom artwork. As October 27, only about 100 copies are left.

On October 21, the record shop announced that a proper release schedule for the vinyl will be revealed within the next two weeks, confirming the plans of a launch show will soon be set in motion.
