This March 8, John Bottles Events, Melt Records, and singleplayer are joining forces to curate an exciting night of local emo, synth-pop, and shoegaze. Joining the lineup for this event entitled, ‘So, What’s The Point?’ are the rising acts Thirds, The Mind Is A Terrible Thing, 10 a.m. Departure, Kubra Commander, SUGARKISS, Awkward Dancer, and Monopolice.

The event is set to be held at From Here, Crossroads, Cebu City, this coming March 8. A part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Law Center Inc., a Cebu-based NGO that provides psychosocial services to women victims of abuse and gender-based violence.

Thirds was previously regarded by Billboard Philippines as an all-female rock trio to keep an eye out for, as their track “Clingy” established their unique persona and math rock-influenced sound in the local music scene. On the other hand, 10 a.m. Departure has been well-established as an indie rock n’ roll act that has performed countless club shows and big events like last year’s Fête de la Musique.

Bringing electric energy to this lineup is emo/post-hardcore quartet The Mind Is A Terrible Thing, while Cebu indie veterans Kubra Commander will add a dose of Britpop-influenced psychedelia. Also from Cebu, SUGARKISS is an up-and-coming indie soloist with a distinctive catwalk anthem quality to her music, and grunge/noise outfit Awkward Dancer has been cited before for having one of the best albums of 2024 with Awkward Dancer Vs. The Harmless Devil. Lastly, Monopolice will be taking the night with their Radiohead-inspired alternative indie rock sound.

Tickets for this event are currently priced at Php 350 online, and door charge is set at Php 400.
