Muri is officially headed to Texas this March.

On January 23, the singer-songwriter and The Ransom Collective violinist-vocalist revealed the news that she is set to represent the Philippines at the prestigious SXSW — a long-standing media conference and festival focused on film, music, and more — in Austin, Texas this March 7-15, 2025. “I still find myself in disbelief that this is happening,” stated Muri in an announcement post, expressing her excitement. “Everything we worked on last year, all the seeds that I’ve planted. It’s all been worth it. Game on!”

Joining a roster of international artists, Muri follows in the footsteps of art pop singer-songwriter ena mori who was the sole representative of the Philippines at the event’s all-Asian and Asian diaspora music showcase in 2023 called ‘Tiger Den,’ organized by Jaded and Balming Tiger. In addition, ena mori also participated in the second iteration of SXSW Sydney last October 2024, where she represented the country alongside Clara Benin.

Last September 20, 2024, Muri released her debut EP, entitled 11éme. It was preceded by two singles “Afternoon” — her first single in two years — and “Rêve-toi.”
