Streaming platform giant Spotify revealed at the 9th Wish Music Awards that they will be soon releasing the lineup for Spotify RADAR Philippines Class of 2024.

Spotify RADAR is the company’s global campaign to recognize emerging artists from countries all over the world. The initiative was first introduced in 2020, with alums including SB19, August Wahh, Alisson Shore, and Of Mercury (formerly known as Nathan and Mercury). The Spotify RADAR Philippines Class of 2023 were unveiled in April of last year, and featured P-Pop groups Alamat, VXON, G22, BINI, and KAIA; hip-hop act PLAYERTWO, R&B singers DENȲ and Illest Morena; and singer-songwriters Paul Pablo, Kenaniah, Paolo Sandejas, and mrld.

The teaser was shown during Spotify Philippines’ first-ever awards segment at the Wish Music Awards. Mrld was announced as the Spotify RADAR Philippines Artist of the Year for being the RADAR Philippines Class of 2023 artist that garnered the most streams over the past year. Other Spotify awardees include Spotify Kalye Song of the Year winner Jeff Grecia for his viral hit “Elevate,” as well as Spotify Kalye Artist of the Year Flow G. The two were awarded as part of Spotify’s Kalye X campaign, which is centered around Filipino hip-hop.

In the past, RADAR artists have gone on to get opportunities such as a billboard in the iconic New York Times Square, exclusive performance videos for Spotify, marketing support, and more. In an Instagram post by Illest Morena commemorating her billboard in Times Square, she wrote, “When I was a little girl, I’ve always imagined seeing my name in shining lights and my face plastered in billboards along the streets of EDSA. Today, I just got my first billboard appearance in NY Times Square…I always knew I was meant for great things.”
