In an exclusive track-by-track guide of the record with Billboard Philippines, SOS’ keyboardist and synths-player Ram Alonzo commented on the difference between the two albums, stating, “Lyrically and thematically, compared to Whatever That Was, this is more mature. It’s about change. It’s about growing up. We made it for us and that’s the most important thing about making this record.”
