The Rest Is Noise is turning ten this year, and to celebrate, one of its iconic shows will be returning for a long-awaited new iteration next month.

Established in 2015, The Rest Is Noise or TRIN is a “music curator, events production, and online publication” based in Manila, co-founded by Ian Urrutia and MC Galang. Since its inception, TRIN has become known for producing a variety of local shows, from regular bar gigs at the now-defunct Route 196 and more to large-scale concerts and festivals such as Summer Noise and All Of The Noise. In addition, TRIN is known for having co-founded AXEAN Festival (formerly known as ASEAN Music Showcase Festival) — the “first intra-regional music showcase event in Southeast Asia.”

This year, as it celebrates its tenth anniversary, TRIN is finally bringing back All Of The Noise or AOTN — its very own event that serves as a music showcase highlighting both local and international acts, as well as featuring talks from seasoned industry figures, and more. Announced on March 5, 2025 (Wednesday), the return of the show is set to happen this April 4 and 5, 2025 (Friday and Saturday) at The Astbury in Makati City.

The previous editions of All Of The Noise were previously held at the events space of Century City Mall in Makati City. Previous inclusions in its lineups included the likes of Elephant Gym (Taiwan), Deafheaven (USA), Phum Viphurit (Thailand), Boy Pablo (Norway), Sobs (Singapore), IV of Spades, Cambio, Sandwich, Cheats, SOS, Ben&Ben, Autotelic, and more.

This edition of AOTN introduces a new program in the form of special screenings for two music-centric documentaries. These first of these two multi-awarded films is Jay Rosas and Mark Limbaga’s Budots: The Craze on April 4 (Friday), which will dive into “the early phenomenon of budots,” which is the “grassroots electronic music movement that started in Davao City.” The second documentary is Chuck Escasa’s Jingle Lang Ang Pahina on April 5, which is about “the legacy of Jingle magazine, one of the pioneering music publications in the Philippines.”

In addition to the screenings, the filmmakers themselves will be hosting a “talkback session, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with the creators.”

A music photography exhibit

In addition to all the programs above, another main highlight of the show is a special exhibit dubbed ‘Welcome To The Static,’ showcasing the work of Manila-based music photographer Karen De La Fuente. Also known as Rocket, De la Fuente is widely known for having “captured some of the most iconic Filipino musicians at their most vulnerable, most exhilarating state of live performance. Notably, she also served as the former creative director for Filipino folk-pop hitmakers Ben&Ben, and has worked with “some of the most important music acts and entertainers of the past decade.”

10 Years Of The Rest Is Noise

For this iteration of the event, The Rest Is Noise reveal that its has expanded upon its 2019 edition’s “multi-format programming” in order to “hone in on TRIN’s brand of curation to import Asian indie acts and eventually begin exporting Filipino music talent via the team’s capacity as co-founders, producers, and programmers of the intraregional AXEAN Festival.”

“As we celebrate 10 years of The Rest Is Noise, we wanted to highlight what helped us reach this milestone in the first place, which is our community,” expresses Galang, who also serves as TRIN’s creative director, in a press statement, describing this iteration of AOTN as “the best [they’ve] conceptualized for far.”

“It started here at home, with the belief, support, and collaboration of music artists who were at the forefront of the events we’ve put together over the years,” she continues. In addition, she also notes that early on, they also recognized and sought after individuals outside of Metro Manila who are also “doing the same thing [they’re] doing,” specifically in Visayas and in Mindanao and, eventually, “Southeast Asia, the rest of Asia, and all over the world.”
