It looks like SOS are finally gearing up to release a new album soon.
On February 5, 2025 (Thursday), the alternative-indie rock band posted an update on their Instagram broadcast channel, sharing a photo of a file folder labeled “SOS ALBUM MASTERS,” hinting at the release of their long-awaited second album. “Sana magkasing excited tayo lahat (Hope we’re all equally excited),” the band remarked upon sending the photo, which earned them excited replies from fans.
More details have yet to be announced, so watch this space for updates.
SOS’ forthcoming, yet-to-be-named new album serves as the highly anticipated follow-up to their fan-favorite debut effort Whatever That Was, released almost eight years ago on September 17, 2017. It carries the band’s hit tracks “Magic,” “Favoritism,” “Leave Me Out of It,” and more. Should the quintet’s second album be released this year, it will be their first collection of songs since their second EP The Other Side, which came out on November 28, 2020.
News of the band’s sophomore record follows the more recent release of the equally long-awaited single “Amore,” which came out last October 25, 2024. In the same month, on October 9, SOS also released their first live EP, entitled Live Performance Compilation, which was recorded live at Sunny Side Sound in Cubao Expo, Quezon City.
