After three years, the League of Legends virtual boy band HEARTSTEEL makes its comeback with its new single, “Live My Life,” released through Riot Games/Virgin Music Group.
HEARTSTEEL is an all-male virtual pop group composed of reimagined versions of League of Legends champions: Ezreal (vocalist), Kayn (rapper and instrumentalist), Aphelios (instrumentalist and songwriter), Yone (producer), K’Sante (co-leader and vocalist), and Sett (co-leader and rapper).
The lineup for their 2023 debut single, “PARANOIA,” featured BAEKHYUN of EXO as Ezreal, ØZI as Sett, Tobi Lou as K’Sante, Cal Scruby as Kayn, and rappers and producers from Riot Games voicing Aphelios and Yone.
Written and produced by alternative pop artist Jon Bellion, “the track celebrates the freedom that comes from embracing who you are and living life loudly without apology,” says the official press release. “Blending genre-bending musical experimentation with raw emotion, the track captures the energy of a group stepping confidently into their next chapter on their own terms.”
The lineup sees the return of acclaimed artists as well as new voices with Anderson .Paak as K’Sante, BAEKHYUN returning as Ezreal, Connor Price as Sett, and Nic D as Kayn.
“Our virtual artists give players a completely different way to experience the champions they love, reimagining them in this alt fantasy [as] pop stars, alongside some of their favorite artists,” Maria Egan, Global Head of Music & Events, Riot Games, shares.
Meanwhile, BAEKHYUN shared his excitement about returning to the group for the collaboration, saying, “It’s great to step back into this role. During my ‘Reverie tour’ last year, I had the chance to visit the Riot campus, where I connected with the Riot team, exchanged ideas, and we found a lot of inspiration in each other.”
